This week was full of news for us. First was that my cousin who has been 30 years in the military and thought he was retiring this year has instead been deployed to Iraq for a 13 month stint. At this time he is in Kuwait and they are waiting for their equipment when they will drive in a convoy of over 100 vehicles, "none of which have proper armor" according to him. Just a few minutes ago I heard on the radio that Donald Rumsfield will from now on personally sign the condolence letters sent to the family of the fallen military. Turns out before they got a computer generated letter with his printed signature. Now he has decided to share a burden of the sacrifice, and will personally sign each computer generated letter. That will really be comforting to know that the burden of this war is being shared by all. I am sincerely hoping he won't get carpal tunnel syndrome from this effort. Well, lucky for him, his job comes with benefits so it shouldn't hamper him if he does. God bless America.
